Description: In what is to this date his most recent Winston Cup victory, "Mr. Excitement" Jimmy Spencer holds off Bill Elliott, his Junior Johnson teammate, for the win at the 1994 DieHard 500 at Talladega. The win was the second of Spencer's career, coming just weeks after his first when he edged Ernie Irvan to win the Pepsi 400 at Daytona. Though listed among the closest finishes in NASCAR history, this clip seems to debate this. The video includes the last two and a half laps with Ken Squier and Ned Jarrett giving the call for CBS. |

COLETHORN10 ::: Favorites I drove three times at Dover with a school, drove at Atlanta and last March drove at Talladega with Jarrett's school. I hate to say school....they do not teach you anything. I went 180 mph in one of Elliott Sadler's #38 M&M cars, and it was easy. They would not let me go any faster. They put a rev limiter on the cars. It doesn't take that much talent to win.....just guts to go that fast. The way they set the cars up with the camber, the car is practically on tracks in the turns. 07-07-22 08:18:52 __________________________________________________ |
