Description: The segment from The Learning Channel's: Riddles of Sand & Ice explains the natural cycles of Ice Ages, brought about by Orbital Forcing (AKA the "Milankovitch Cycles") This video demonstrates the dynamics responsible for the natural earth climate cycles and resulting Ice Ages, and sets up the benchmark for which human activity can be measured against as this may disrupt these natural cycles via the green house gasses emitted since the onset of the industrial revolution. http://tlc.discovery.com/ http://shopping.discovery.com/product-66264.html?jzid=40588005-41-0 |

frio109 ::: Favorites 2007-12-22 12:22:12 I concur. The orbit is effected by electric magnetic gravity from mainly the Sun. the Earth is also affected lesser so by the other planets, moons, asteroids, other stars, etc. The extent of effect is the mass x gravity +-constant distance change from/to every other influnce=dynamical climate changes that are always changing. No two cycles or revolutions arround the sun are,or can ever be the same. __________________________________________________
marciamellow ::: Favorites 2007-12-20 16:17:11 This video explains NATURAL global climate change, which is a separate dynamic than human induced global climate change. The data from past ice ages (~600K YRs of it), which includes temperature & CO2 data, can be used as the benchmark & compared against data from the past ~200 YRS to measure MANMADE climate change, for which is all-but certainly occurring today. __________________________________________________
Isaiah402831 ::: Favorites 2007-12-20 01:10:56 I'll have to check that out, I'm thinking about buying the dvd global warming or global governance because I like what I have seen on google about it even seen the actual film via google search and liked it. It has a good explanation about C02 and greenhouse gases, and both sides of this debate __________________________________________________
marciamellow ::: Favorites 2007-12-19 22:54:24 The other accompnying video I have posted explains a lot more. Thanks for watching. The DVD set can be purchased in the link (click on "about this video to see links). It's good material with the writers strike going on! Makes a great Xmas gift too! __________________________________________________
Isaiah402831 ::: Favorites 2007-12-19 22:47:54 I really do agree with what this video says, this is the best explanation to "global warming" I've seen so far __________________________________________________ |
