``The story has nothing to do with murdering your children, IMO.´´ PROVE IT. prove it to me. show me how this has NOTHING to do with sacrificing children. did we read the same story? i thought i picked up some words that sounded like ``burnt offering´´.

millions of people can still be completely wrong. and if they are emotionally tied to a stupid idea... that doesnt make the idea valid or true. wrong ideas cannot be meaningful, because they are unable to explain anything. or at least we can prove that the explanation we get would most likely also be wrong. i prefer explanations that are prove to be true, we got enough of those, they are called science. and religion obviously causes harm, it does damage that is very real.

so you are arguing that every old myth needs to be further examined, even if its obviously useless? how could we make progress if we cant discard some stupid ideas every now and then?

Have you ever been in a position where you had to sacrifice/risk something "good" for your children? I think that the reason we are stuck in our current economic system of dependency upon oil etc., is because people don't want to jeopardize their children's economic future if they just drop their careers for something truly in keeping with their values. The story has nothing to do with murdering your children, IMO.

(sorry for the typo *there*) Think about this: There are millions of people who have attached themselves to this book emotionally. What "meme" do you think they will accept more quickly; a meaningful one or, one that rejects the book as if it was written by a pack of barbaric retards?

I watched this two months ago, Kurtlein. He thinks their is NO possible way to understand this positively. From an evolutionary point of view, it is imperative that we reinterpret these myths with restored meaning.

A lot of the people in the Bible that claim God talked to them sound like schizophrenics. "A dead person that lives in my closet told me to murder my family!" Sound familiar?

Richard Dawkins is brilliant. Every christian should be required to buy his book "The God Delusion" and read it over and over until they come to reality!

Faith is; willfully, not seeing past the tip of one's nose. All human beings are "soulless" as a matter of fact.
