Description:

For your reference... llinois Stop and Identify law: Ill. Comp. Stat., ch. 725, §5/107-14 "Stop and Identify" statutes are laws in the United States that require persons detained under certain circumstances to identify themselves to a peace officer. In Hiibel v. Sixth Judicial District Court of Nevada, 542 U.S. 177 (2004), the Supreme Court of the United States held that such laws did not violate the Fourth Amendment prohibition on unreasonable searches and seizures or the Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination. Reasonable suspicion: Reasonable suspicion is a legal standard in United States law that a person; has been, is, or is about to be, engaged in criminal activity based on specific and articulable facts and inferences. It is the basis for an investigatory or Terry stop by the police and requires less evidence than probable cause, the legal requirement for arrests and warrants. Reasonable suspicion is evaluated using the "reasonable person" or "reasonable officer" standard, in which said person in the same circumstances could reasonably believe a person has been, is, or is about to be, engaged in criminal activity; such suspicion is not a mere hunch. Police may also, based solely on reasonable suspicion of a threat to safety, frisk a suspect for weapons, but not for contraband like drugs. A combination of particular facts, even if individually innocuous, can form the basis of reasonable suspicion.

I would like to comment on how fanbutton has no concept of reality, however, Malagent seems to have a handle on that without an assist. Instead, I'll remind people that, in the U.S. a person can be detained indefinitely if they are not willing to identify themselves. If you've done nothing wrong, you've nothing to fear from an officer checking your ID for warrants, do you, guv? Unless, of course, the idea is to make a scene for a sensationalist podcast, as those two tossers were doing!

Troublemakers complaining when the police are right! Cops just can't win, people complain when they are right and when they are wrong.

RE: "Its called propagating the facts." Yes it is. Propagate: To make widely known; publicize That's what I'm doing with the facts. I manipulated nothing, I left it all there and added my comments, and facts.

No it is not...it is in your description. You are manipulating the characters wording in this video as you see fit. If not, you would have just let the original video be. There would have been no need for you to reproduce it in a manner convenient for your purposes. Its called propagating the facts.

1. We have no knowledge of the number of complaints. 2. or if the woman is deranged. 3. Police have to investigate the complaint before they can know if it is reasonable or not. 4. Criminal trials are decided based on beyond a reasonable doubt. 5. Cops never went off the deep end in this case.

We have no idea how peaceful they were prior to what the video shows. All we can go on are the facts we can see. I see someone making an issue where none exists, the officers were reasonable, lawful and correct in their actions. The protesters were wrong many times ans lucky they were not arrested for the felony charge.

That should tell you right there that we are not living in a free country. That's like the kgb getting a "tip" from a would be informant...just to fuck you around. Court cases are decided on the proponderence of the evidence...there were two of them and one of her. The magnatude of the incident did not warrant the cops to go off the deep end based on shear rhetoric from a deranged woman.
