thejobloshow ::: Favorites It's a projection trick, you can do a very simple trick like this with a television monitor reflecting off a piece of glass onto a window. There's a Wikipedia article on Holography that goes into great detail how these sophisticated 3D projections work. 07-08-03 21:03:41 _____________________________________________________
Internatube ::: Favorites Hang on 'does Wiki Check'. Hmm, but if it really is just an optical illusion, why is it that you can see it from every angle? 07-08-03 22:47:01 _____________________________________________________
thejobloshow ::: Favorites It's not exactly a 3D projection. It's projecting 3D rendered films but you wouldn't be able to walk around the pyramid and see all 360 degrees of the hologram, it'll maintain the same perspective regardless of where you stand in the room. 07-08-05 12:31:03 _____________________________________________________
thejobloshow ::: Favorites I can't explain it fully without reaching for a text book, but what I'm saying is that our perception of a holograph is something that can stand alone in free space, whereas this optic illusion relies on laser lights refracting and bouncing off carefully constructed lenses. Because it's dependant on this pyramid construction it's a sophisticated hologram and it's old technology, albeit expensive. 07-08-05 12:31:22 _____________________________________________________
thejobloshow ::: Favorites argh, I meant "it's a sophisticated projection". 07-08-05 12:32:07 _____________________________________________________
thejobloshow ::: Favorites Additionally, the guy in the video nevers says it's a hologram, he calls it a volumetric display which is quite different. 07-08-05 12:41:15 _____________________________________________________
Internatube ::: Favorites Oh, ok. I think I get the gist of it now. Any recomended websites for ACTUAL holograms or further explanations for Cheoptics? 07-08-06 03:44:26 _____________________________________________________
ilikefox34 ::: Favorites that was dissapointing... 07-08-07 23:51:45 _____________________________________________________
coldwhisper13 ::: Favorites well I think something's odd about this... first of all the images are not projected onto a surface of any sorts,and as of what I know,although I'm not a physician,light cannot project itself onto light and second of all,in order to be able to see objects in full 3D,my guess is it would only work with games,cause movies are filmed only in 2D,with only one camera at a time,not hundreds of them placed at every possible angle 07-08-08 17:15:34 _____________________________________________________
faghdad ::: Favorites Except for 300, where they had multiple cameras. 07-08-11 00:26:03 _____________________________________________________ |
